I learned very early on in life that having a therapist and someone to understand you and hear you can make one of the biggest impacts in a person’s life. With this lesson, it became a goal of mine to become a therapist and to be able to support others as they are going through some of the most challenging times in their lives. Along with this goal came my passion for working with those that tend to be marginalized in our society, such as the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC community, and working with those individuals to find their power and voice and to become the most authentic version of themselves.
I received my Bachelor’s in psychology with an emphasis in Human Development from SNHU in 2019 and quickly began working towards my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in 2022 from Capella University. Throughout this time and after graduation, I worked for an Intensive Outpatient program providing individual, family, couples, and group counseling for individuals with mental health struggles, trauma, and gender dysphoria.
Currently, I work with teens, adults, families, and couples needing a helping hand with depression, anxiety, trauma, and gender-related concerns. I tend to practice from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) point of view, but I also use aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Gestalt Therapy. When working with marginalized populations, I also really enjoy using Feminist Therapy. I am also currently working on getting certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). When I am not working, you can usually find me hiking, relaxing with my family, or watching a good romantic comedy.
