Kiersten Eaker, MA Intern

Works with adolescents and adults. Utilizes Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and some Motivational Interviewing

Growing up in Central Illinois there was a major stigma around mental health. I knew from a young age the impacts that mental health stigma has on many individuals and I wanted to create change. This led me to work as a peer support student during high school and to get my undergraduate degree in Psychology at CU-Boulder. I am currently working towards getting my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Denver.

Starting therapy can be scary but you don’t have to face it alone. I strive to create a comfortable and safe space where clients can openly and without judgment explore their thoughts and emotions. You are the expert on your life and I hope to work collaboratively with you to help facilitate growth, healing, understanding, and empowerment within your life.

I work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples. I have a passion for working with individuals who may be facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and stress. I utilize evidence-based practices such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also pull from Mindfulness and Strengths-based techniques to help provide an integrative therapeutic approach that best fits your needs and goals.
