Currently, I work with adults ranging from 18 up to elderly populations. I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Other therapeutic interventions I implement in my practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). At WellMinded Counseling, I work with clients who have anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders. In my treatment, I utilize a client-centered approach with an emphasis on the three qualities proposed by Carl Rogers including unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and genuineness.

Before I found my passion for counseling, I considered majoring in English or nursing.
Victor Frankl once said, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” Beginning in high school, I began to become more aware of the suffering that was taking place in the world, particularly the Iraq War. When hearing new stories about the trauma experienced by veterans, I developed a desire to help individuals and then decided to make it my mission in life.
I am an Ohio native and lived in the Buckeye State until 2021. I graduated from Youngstown State University in 2015 with my bachelor’s degree and majored in psychology with a minor in sociology. In 2018, I graduated from the master’s program at Youngstown State University with a degree in counseling. I first became involved in the mental health field by working as a receptionist at a private practice. During my master’s degree, I completed a two-year internship at a facility called Travco Behavioral Health where I worked as an intern doing outpatient counseling for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. When I moved to Columbus Ohio in 2019, I worked for Dublin Springs and was a partial-hospitalization therapist, conducting treatment groups for individuals that had a psychiatric hospitalization in order to provide stabilization. After Dublin Springs, I worked at Recovery & Prevention Resources (RPR) in Delaware, Ohio. While working at RPR, I worked with court-ordered individuals having substance use and mental health disorders. I also worked as a treatment team member at the Delaware County Municipal Court on three specialized dockets. The purpose of the dockets was to provide resources and treatment to individuals of specific populations including veterans, individuals with substance use disorders who were given a DUI, and parents of children who were involved in the court system due to substance use issues. Afterward, I moved to Colorado in January of 2022.
I am a firm believer in clients having the ability to meet their highest potential with support and a deeper awareness of themselves. Counseling is a passion of mine and I truly love working with my clients to help them gain insight and make positive changes in their life. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, doing yoga, reading, meditating, traveling, going to concerts, and being in nature.

I work with clients struggling with areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. I have conducted a new treatment group at WellMinded Counseling that focuses on the principles of DBT including mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. I also enjoy working with individuals who have self-esteem issues, perfectionistic tendencies, relationship concerns, and have negative and oftentimes rigid thought patterns about themselves and the world.
