Stephanie Konter-O’Hara, LPC, LMHC: Owner/Founder of WellMinded Counseling & Host of Redefining Us the Podcast
I'm the owner of WellMinded Counseling, where we strive to create a space that’s as unique as our clients. My journey as a therapist began in 2013, after graduating from the University of South Florida’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, from in-home and residential substance abuse programs to crisis stabilization units, and since 2017, I’ve been thriving in owning my a private practice.
Creating WellMinded Counseling was a natural extension of my entrepreneurial spirit and my passion for crafting systems that make a difference. My mission is to foster equitable and inclusive mental health services, and to challenge the stigma often associated with seeking help. At WellMinded Counseling, we embrace innovation and work tirelessly to provide a supportive place for both clients and fellow clinicians who share our vision.
As a supervisor, I am dedicated to nurturing the next generation of therapists. I believe in empowering new professionals to explore, grow, and ultimately offer compassionate care that helps clients heal and thrive. For me, being in a teaching environment was always a source of safety and growth, and now it’s a core part of my role at WellMinded Counseling.
In my clinical practice, I focus on helping clients live authentically and shed the masks we often wear to fit in. Whether dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, or the pressures of daily life, I work with individuals to move through their barriers and find peace. My specializations include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and I am passionate about supporting those dealing with eating disorders, perinatal mental health, relationship traumas and more.
Currently, I am also under the supervision of AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Jacqueline Mendez to deepen my expertise in sexual health and identity, aiming to help clients explore their relationships with their bodies and intimate connections.
Join me as we dive into conversations that aim to inspire, educate, and support on the journey to mental wellness and personal growth.
